Datuk Masidi Manjun in the presentation on Centennial Climb of Mt. Kinabalu (In the Footsteps of Lilian Gibbs)
Ms Vicky Ng, the leader of the Expedition Team, welcomed the arrival of Datuk Masidi Manjun to the presentation on Centennial Climb of Mt. Kinabalu (In the Footsteps of Lilian Gibbs) on 9 March 2010. Five ladies of The Sabah Society successfully reached the summit of Mount Kinabalu at 14:20 on the 24th February, 2010, exactly one century after Lilian Gibbs became the first woman to climb Mount Kinabalu.
Cik Vicky Ng, selaku ketua ekspedisi, menyambut kedatangan Datuk Masidi Manjun ke pembentangan mengenai Seabad Pendakian Gunung Kinabalu (Mengikut Jejak Lilian Gibbs) pada 9 Mac 2010. Enam wanita dari Persatuan Sabah telah berjaya menakluki puncak Gunung Kinabalu pada jam 2.20pm, 24 Februari 2010—tepat seabad sejak Lilian Gibbs menjadi wanita pertama yang menakluki Gunung Kinabalu.After watching the slide show presentations by the climbers, Datuk Masidi Manjun congratulated the lady team who had successfully re-traced the original route taken by Lilian Gibbs, and shared his views about this historical climb. The event was hosted by the Sabah Tourism Board with Datuk Masidi Manjun as the Guest of Honour, in Shangri-la’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa.
Setelah melihat persembahan slaid oleh para pendaki, Datuk Masidi mengucapkan tahniah kepada pasukan pendaki wanita tersebut yang telah berjaya menjejak laluan asal yang dilalui oleh Lilian Gibbs. Beliau juga berkongsi pendapat mengenai pendakian bersejarah tersebut. Acara ini telah dihoskan oleh Lembaga Pelancongan Sabah, dengan Datuk Masidi Manjun selaku Tetamu Kehormat, bertempat di Shangri-la’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa.Datuk Masidi Manjun was given a limited edition of “Centennial Climb” T-Shirt by the climbers.
