Datuk Masidi Manjun spends some time with students of Cardiff University who are currently conducting research in the Ulu Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, after witnessing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the State Government and Cardiff University, in Danau Girang, Kinabatangan, on 17 July 2009. The MoU was signed to renew the the partnership between both parties to continue their research in the Centre for five more years. Representing the State Government and Cardiff University were the Director of Sabah Wildlife Department Mr. Laurentius Ambu and Professor Dr Mike Bruford respectively.

Datuk Masidi Manjun beramah mesra dengan mahasiswa dan mahasiswi Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom yang sedang menjalankan kajian di Pusat Sanktuari Hidupan Liar Hilir Kinabatangan, selepas menyaksikan majlis menandatangani memorandum persefahaman (MoU) antara Kerajaan Negeri Sabah dan Cardiff University, di Danau Girang, Kinabatangan, pada petang 17 Julai 2009. MoU tersebut adalah bagi memperbaharui kerjasama antara kedua-dua pihak dalam menjalankan kajian di pusat tersebut selama lima tahun lagi. Kerajaan Negeri Sabah diwakili oleh Pengarah Jabatan Hidupan Liar Sabah, Laurentius Ambu manakala Cardiff University oleh Profesor Dr Mike Bruford.
