Mulvey appointed Sabah FA Technical Director
Kota Kinabalu: English-born Mike Mulvey has been appointed as the Technical Director of Sabah Football Association (Safa) on Monday. In a brief statement released by Sabah Rhinos Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri TC Goh, the former head coach for Brisbane Roar FC in Australia will assist the State Premier League team with immediate effect.
“The appointment of Mike is to assist the team to maintain our good start and to continue for better performance for the rest of the season.
“Mike has 25 years of coaching experience and he shall be with the team for the coming away match against Selangor UiTM on Friday to assist Justin Ganai who will remain as the head coach.”
Goh added that the appointment has the blessing of Safa President, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman.
He also disclosed Musa gave a vote of confidence for his management of the team this season which was supported by State Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak and Datuk Masidi Manjun, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment who were present together with Senator Datuk Kadzim Yahya, Sabah Rhinos assistant team manager Rahman Zakaria, Safa Executive Secretary Alijus Sipil and Scott Ollerenshaw during a courtesy call on Monday afternoon.
