Sabah’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, YB Datuk Masidi Manjun, delivering a speech at the Sabah Arts and Photographic Society Members Photo Exhibition which was held in conjunction with the World Photography Day. The event was held at the Centre Atrium, One Borneo Hypermall, on 19 August 2010.

Datuk Masidi Manjun taking Her Excellency Ms. Quentin Bryce, the Governor General of Australia, on a tour around the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Among the places visited were the Training Centre and the Treatment Centre for Orang Utan.

Datuk Masidi Manjun sempat membawa TYT Ms Quentin Bryce ke beberapa tempat di sekitar kawasan pemuliharaan tersebut. Antara tempat-tempat yang dilawati adalah Pusat Latihan dan Rawatan bagi Orang Utan.

Datuk Masidi Manjun being interviewed by the Thai Nation Channel TV

Datuk Masidi Manjun being interviewed by the Thai Nation Channel TV at the ministry’s office in Kota Kinabalu on 13 August 2010. In the interview, Masidi stated that most of the tourism products in Sabah are highly unique compared to other places as most of its attractions are nature-based. He also stated that there have been a lot of efforts done by the Sabah State Government to ensure this uniqueness is preserved, for example, nature campaigns as well as environmental education programs in schools.

Datuk Masidi Manjun ditemuramah oleh Thai Nation Channel TV pada 13 Ogos 2010 bertempat di Kementerian Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Alam Sekitar. Dalam temuramah tersebut, Masidi menyatakan bahawa produk pelancongan di Sabah adalah amat unik sekali berbanding dengan di tempat-tempat lain kerana kebanyakannya tarikannya adalah berasaskan alam sekitar. Beliau menyatakan bahawa, dalam mempertahankan keunikan tersebut, terdapat banyak usaha yang telah dilakukan oleh kerajaan Negeri Sabah antaranya adalah kempen-kempen kesedaran alam sekitar dan juga pendidikan alam sekitar di peringkat sekolah agar keunikan ini sentiasa terpelihara.
