Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, Datuk Masidi Manjun hands a zakat to a Muslim convert at Masjid Pekan Ranau. The zakat is a charity from Takaful Malaysia held every year. This year, Takaful Malaysia Ranau branch provides zakat to 100 people; 50 students and 50 new Muslim converts. The event was organised by Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (ABIM), a non-government organisation with its main objective to promote religious activities. 17 Feb 2008.

YB Datuk Masidi Manjun launches Walai Tokou Homestay at Kg. Sinisian, Ranau on 16th February 2008. Walai Tokou Homestay has been around since 2001. They beat thousands of other homestays in a national competition last year called “Kejuaraan Ilham Desa” which made Datuk Masidi very proud. 16 Feb 2008.
