Wu Chun in love with Sabah’s beaches

KOTA KINABALU: Tourists from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan are encouraged to come to Sabah if they want to enjoy beautiful beaches and fresh seafood.

Taiwanese singer and actor Wu Chun (pic) is in love with Sabah after visiting the islands and tasting the seafood here.

He has been coming to the state several times a year to spend time with his family. “This is a very beautiful place to visit. The seafood is fabulous and I think Sabah is the perfect place to visit if you love beaches as well as seafood.

“I really enjoy coming to Sabah and will not get bored of visiting this place,” he said after a meet-the-fans session at the Manukan Island not far from the city here yesterday.

The 35-year-old added that it took less than an hour to fly from his hometown of Brunei to Kota Kinabalu.

Wu is here for a three-day official visit. He said he always felt safe in Sabah, regardless of the various incidents, especially the kidnapping of Chinese nationals, that happened.

“I own a gym in Brunei and we may come to Sabah to climb Mount Kinabalu as I have heard so many nice stories about this mountain from friends.

“I hear you can literally see clouds near you halfway to the top,” he added.

Later in the event, organised by Sabah Tourism Board and Royal Brunei Airlines in collaboration with the Sutera Harbour Resort, fans brought in specially from Hong Kong and China had the opportunity to spend time and get autographed posters from Wu.

Participants of an earlier sand castle making competition also received their prizes from the artiste.

Wu is scheduled to visit Hong Kong and Singapore as part of the Royal Airlines tour after departing from Sabah today.
